Quick Savory Chicken Recipe | Serve with Pasta or Rice

Here’s a tasty recipe for you. I used to make this recipe years ago. A few days ago, I thought about the recipe and decided to change it up a bit. It came out delicious and was a big hit our our house. Add some extra cayenne pepper to spice things up, which blends so well with the smoked paprika. This dish is great when served pasta or rice since it has a delicious, savory sauce. Enjoy!

A quick and tasty recipe!  All done on the stove and ready within an hour. Add some cayenne pepper to spice things up, which blends so well with the smoked paprika.  This dish is great when served with pasta or rice since it has a delicious, savory sauce.

Ingredients
  • 3 lbs chicken - with bones; remove skin
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 bell pepper, any color, minced
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chopped parsley for topping (optional)
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in large skillet and brown chicken pieces on all sides. Remove from pan.

  2. Add onion and garlic to pan. Saute until soft. Return chicken to pan. Sprinkle with paprika.

  3. Combine flour, tomato paste and chicken broth, pour over chicken. Add in bell pepper and cayenne, stir to blend.

  4. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25 - 30 mins until chicken is tender.

  5. Remove chicken; stir in sour cream and heat until hot. Pour sauce over chicken and serve. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
