Kraft Singles Recall
Kraft has recalled some packages of singles, individually-wrapped cheese slices, because of a problem with the wrapper. Customers who bought the cheese are asked to return it to the store where purchased for a full refund.
Three Reports of Choking
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall due to the thin plastic wrapper around the individual slices of cheese. In some cases, a section of the wrapper may remain stuck to the cheese after the slice is unwrapped. The FDA notes there have been three reports of choking.
How to Know if Your Cheese Has Been Recalled
The recall includes three- and four-pound packages of Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized cheese product. The packages have a “Best When Used by Date” of 29 DEC 15 through 04 JAN 16. The dates are followed by the code S54 or S55.
