Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked The World

Cost:  Free with admission
Description: “Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World” traces the instrument’s evolution from 3,000 BC to the present. Explore 60+ rare instruments such as early Fenders and Martins, then experiment with the science of sound in a gallery of playables and interactives. Kids and adults can take to the stage (photo alert!) and play real keyboards, drums, and guitars. Don’t miss strumming the world’s largest guitar, a 2,255-pound, 43-foot long Gibson.

Skylands Stadium Christmas Light Show

Cost:  $20 per carload.  Get a $5 off coupon (see below for details)
Description:  Skylands Stadium will hold a spectacular drive-through Christmas Light Show every weekend throughout the holiday season. Drive through one mile of spectacular light sculptures set to joyous music of the season. Discounted Tickets of $15 per carload are available at 59 Walgreens in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. A $5-off entry coupon is also available online at SkylandsStadium.com (may not be combined with discounted ticket from Walgreens).

Holiday Festival

Cost:  Free admission
Description: Take a hayride to see Santa Claus, ride a pony, decorate ornaments, and enjoy many other activities. Find that perfect gift at the Silent Auction, which benefits the School Horse Retirement Fund. Fees vary; admission, parking, hayrides & pony rides are free.

12th Annual Colonial Christmas

Cost:   $10 (children 12 and under, free)
Description: Celebrate Christmas past and present at Bedminster’s historic Jacobus Vanderveer House & Museum, which opens its wreath-clad doors for the 12th annual Colonial Christmas show house and tour.   The fundraiser features: house tours, holiday shopping with boutique vendors and artisans, Colonial holiday decorations by The Rose and Radish Floral Design, Colonial musicians and re-enactors, Santa visits (1-3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays), and permanent exhibits — The Kitchen Hearth, The Vanderveer Parlor, The Knox Bedroom, The Prich Matthews History Center and The Lumber Room.
