Target Coupon Policy Update

Good news for Target Shoppers!  Target has just released an updated version of their coupon policy and it is a positive update!

As you know, more and more coupons found on Coupons.com have suggestions as to where the coupon can be used.  As we’ve reminded you guys often, when a coupon prints and says “Redeemable at Walmart” printed on it, this is just a suggestion.  Walmart is essentially advertising their store on the coupon.  Unfortunately many stores do not understand this and refuse to accept these coupons, but I’m happy to see many stores are beginning to change their policies to acknowledge these coupons are valid and perfectly fine to use at ANY retailer that accepts coupons (ShopRite recently updated thier policy making it clear these such coupons are fine to use).

Target’s update coupon policy now makes it clear that as long as the coupon is a manufacturer’s coupon, it will be accepted, regardless of retailer suggestions printed on the coupon.

The second update in the Target Coupon Policy is on clarifying the meaning of fine print on coupons.  We know this can get confusing and every cashier seems to interpret this reading differently, so I’m thrilled to see Target address this officially in their policy.

  • One coupon per purchase means you’re using one coupon per item being purchased. You can use multiples of the same coupon as long as each coupon has a matching item.
  • One coupon per transaction means you can use only one specific coupon per store transaction. You can’t use more than one same coupon, even if you’re buying multiple items.

The Changes in a Nutshell:

1. All valid manufacturer’s coupons will be accepted, regardless of store suggestions printed on them (i.e. “Redeemable at Walmart”)

2. Clarification now made in the policy as to the difference between “per purchase” and “per transaction” fine print on a coupon.
