Chicken Apple Sausage Recipe
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I make my Chicken Apple Sausage Recipe often. Almost every day someone asks me for this recipe. So, I thought it was about time I made a printable version of it so it was easy for all of you to see it. The recipe is super easy to make and delicious which makes it great for quick dinners.
I usually use the Aidells Chicken Apple and Sausage which I usually get at Costco. I have tried making it with Aldi’s Never Any Chicken Apple Sausage and while it’s still good, the Aidells, IMO, is better.
We usually serve it over brown rice. I make my brown rice in the oven which is also super easy and foolproof. But you can also use white rice or even egg noodles would work well too.
So, without further ado, here is the recipe:
Quick and easy dinner recipe
- 1 pkg Aidells Chicken Apple Sausage or any other brand, total of 5 sausages slice in thick slices on an angle
- 2 Pepper, red, orange, yellow or green Sliced. Our favorite is using red
- 1 Onion sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can chunk pineapple in natural juice
-
In skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat
-
Cook the peppers and onions until well done getting the onions to caramelize (cooking enough so they turn deep brown in color)
-
Once the peppers and onions are cooked, add the sausage to the pan and cook until they are slightly brown. Stirring often
-
Once sausage is slightly browned, add the canned pineapples, juice and all
-
Let it come to a boil, reduce heat and cover
-
Let it simmer for about 10 - 15 minutes to just bring all the flavors together
-
Serve over rice
