We’ve put together your meal plan for the week keeping your costs for all five meals at just under $30. Most of these recipes work for a family of 4 making them as low as $1.50 per serving.
You might find that you already have some of the items listed on the shopping list in your stock pile so your out of pocket cost will be even less!

with Corn Bread and Baby Carrots
Total Cost: approximately $5.49
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Onion – 1 large
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Garbanzo or Great Northern beans – 15 oz. can
- White hominy or whole kernel corn – – 15 oz. can
- Canned chicken – 10 oz.
- Green chiles – 4 oz can
- Chicken broth – 32 oz.
- Lime – 1 small lime
- Dried oregano – 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin – 1/2 teaspoon

Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Tuna – 2 cans
- Teriyaki sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
- Egg whites – 2
- Red onion – 2 tablespoons diced
- Red bell pepper – 2 tablespoons diced
- Scallions or green onions – 2 diced
- Garlic powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Hot pepper sauce – 1/2 teaspoon

- Daikon radish sprouts – 4 tablespoons
Daikon radish sprouts may be tricky to find unless you go to an Asian market. We added alfalfa sprouts to our list as a substitute.
