You’re probably used to seeing Sprite in their Iconic Green Bottle & you’re probably wondering why is Sprite getting rid of the green bottles!
Coca Cola announced Sprite will be ditching the green bottle to a Clear bottle starting 8/1/22! They are trying to be more environmentally responsible! They are hoping the change will push for Sprite bottles to be recycled more. The green bottles contain PET which isn’t as easily recycled!
Statement: “Although green PET is recyclable, the recycled material is more often converted into single-use items like clothing and carpeting that cannot be recycled into new PET bottles,” Coca-Cola explained in a statement on its site. “During the sorting process, green and other colored PET is separated from clear material to avoid discoloring recycled food-grade packaging required to make new PET bottles.”
The label and cap will be green and the logo will be a little bit different!
Taking the color out of the bottle will improve the quality of the recycled material! What do you think about this change!
