The FDA has become aware of reports of toxic levels of Vitamin D in 8 Dog Food Brands.

How to Know if Your Dog has Vitamin D Toxicity

If your dog is vomiting, has a loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drool and weight loss they may have toxic levels of Vitamin D in them.

The FDA is working to contact the manufacturer to provide a comprehensive list of brands.

What to Do

If your dog is having symptoms contact your veterinarian right away. Tell the doctor exactly what food your dog is eating.

If your dog is not having symptoms but you have this food, please do not feed it to your dog.

You can report suspected illness to the FDA electronically through the Safety Reporting Portal or by calling your state’s FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinators.
