P&G Changes Coupon Limits

When you take a look at your new P&G insert this weekend, you may notice something a little different. There are new limitations on ALL the P&G coupons starting the week of July 2nd. The new limitations are “Limit of 2 Identical Coupons per household per day”.

While having a limit of 2 identical coupons per day is not new to coupon restrictions, Unilever and Reckitt Benckiser have had these restrictions for years, this is new for all P&G coupons. As couponers, we were used to the P&G limits of 4 like coupons per day in the past.

So, what does this mean for couponers?

Well, for the past 8 years of running Living Rich With Coupons, we have seen many different changes and restrictions from store coupon policy changes, less catalina offers, to restrictions on coupons and more. However, we have also seen positive changes such as more printable coupons, easier printing from mobile devices, easy to use rebate offers such as Ibotta and Checkout51 and even some updated coupon policies that have been in the favor of couponers. So, this simply means we have to adjust to these new restrictions.

Adjusting is not always a bad thing, but it does take some getting used to. Of course, the deals we list here on Living Rich With Coupons, will follow the new limitations so, we’ll do the hard work of getting you the best deals within the coupon guidelines so you can still save big. What you have to do, as a couponer, is be sure to stick with the limitations and coupon policies because, what we have found, is that these changes come to fruition due to many years of misusing coupons by some.

In fact, rumor has it that the reason some regions no longer have actual insert coupons in their inserts but instead direct you to the printable coupon, is due to high volume of insert resales in those areas. So, as you can see, they are really trying to crack down on coupon fraud and misuse.

Another example of their cracking down is this huge disclaimer that is now listed at the bottom of the printed coupons:

Is there anything good to come from this?

Well, yes. As I mentioned above, P&G is offering more and more printable coupons via the PG Everyday website and through Coupons.com. Most of these coupons are a limit of 1 identical coupon coupon per household per day. So, while that is even worse then the insert coupons, as far as limitations, the good thing is, you can increase the coupon limitation by at least one more item by being able to use 2 of the insert coupons and 1 of the printable coupons (when both insert and printable are available).

Note: Just to clarify, you can’t use the 3 coupons together on 1 item. You would need to buy the qualifying items as stated on each individual coupon. For instance, if you have (2) $3/1 Tide Coupons from an insert and (1) $3/1 Tide Printable Coupon, you would need to buy 3 Tide Products in order to use the 3 coupons in one transaction.
