Fresh Express Recall

Out of an extreme abundance of caution, Fresh Express Incorporated has announced a limited recall of its 32-ounce Chopped Romaine salad mix. This is because the containers may contain packets of condiments with undeclared allergens including dairy, eggs, fish, and wheat products.

Fresh Express has issued this recall after discovering that sealed packets of condiments usually included in their Cesar Salad packages were mistakenly placed in bags of Chopped Romaine. These condiment packets, which are individually sealed, include dressing, croutons, and parmesan cheese. Although the condiment items are sealed separately and then further packaged in a bag separate from the lettuce itself, the presence of these undeclared allergens is enough to warrant a limited recall of the affected products.

No illnesses related to the mislabeled salad bags have been reported at this time.
