Free Museum Days
The Smithsonian Institute museums in Washington, DC are open free of charge, everyday. In that spirit, the Smithsonian Magazine is hosting Museum Day Live! on Saturday, September 26. On that day, some 1,400 participating museums around the country will offer free admission, but you must order your tickets in advance. Tickets are limited, so act soon.

How do I get tickets?
Once you choose the museum you want to visit, register here. You can then print out the ticket page or have it available on your device when you visit. Once you choose a museum, you will see directions about using either a device or paper ticket.
What if the museum I chose is closed on Saturday, September 26?
This is the case with only a few museums, and they will have an alternate date, probably September 27.
Can anybody get free admission on Museum Day Live!?
No, you must present the Museum Day Live! ticket for you and one guest.
Can I download a ticket for more than one museum?
No, you may only download a ticket for one musuem.
Can I bring as many people as I choose on one ticket?
No, the Museum Day Live! ticket is only good for two people per household. If you want to bring more people, they must either register for their own tickets or pay the admission fee.
Is there a hidden fee? Will I have access to the entire museum?
Our Living Rich with Coupons correspondent ordered a set of tickets for herself last year. In addition, both her son and daughter ordered sets of tickets. There were no problems and they had access to the full museum.
