What’s happening in NJ this weekend? Here are some great free or inexpensive activities to do with your family over the weekend! It’s always nice to have a plan!
Saturday 3/14/15:
Garden Exploration Saturdays – Sensory Exploration
Cost: $5 per child ages 4 & up; $10 per family (2 or more children)
Description: Looking for something to do on a Saturday morning? Come to Van Vleck and visit our Education Center anytime between 10 am to 1:00 pm. An environmental educator will discuss various topics relating to nature in and around the gardens. A simple craft will be offered, as well as supplies for a self-guided scavenger hunt on the property. Everything you need to enjoy quality time with your family is here for you. Activities are designed for children ages 4 and up; however, all are welcome. All children must be supervised by an adult. Rain or shine.

Happy Birthday, Albert!
Cost: $5 per child (one adult included free; additional adults are $4.)
Description: Who was Albert Einstein? Learn about the public and private life of the famous scientist and humanitarian through examination of photographs and his personal belongings. Then, play like Einstein – build a house of cards, solve puzzles and enjoy some cake!
Location: Bainbridge House, 158 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ
Time: 11 am – noon, 4 – 5 pm

Sunday 3/15/15:
Luck of the Farm: Farm Hands and House Maids
Cost: $8/adult, $7 seniors (65+), $6/child 4 – 16 $4/child 2 & 3, Free for under 2
Description: Join the celebration of the Irish who worked at Fosterfields during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Help with farm and domestic chores, and tour The Willows to discover what jobs house servants performed for the Foster family. Learn about the Irish culture through dance, crafts, and music.
Location: Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, 73 Kahdena Road, Morristown, NJ

Maple Sugaring
Cost: Members $5/Non-members $10 per person
Description: Learn how to identify a maple tree. Discover the history of syrup making and how technology has changed the way we gather sap over the centuries. The group will check Tenafly Nature Center’s tapped tree and boil down sap to make fresh, warm maple syrup, a sweet treat for all to taste. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain or shine. Dress warmly; the program will take place indoors and outdoors.
Location: Tenafly Nature Center, 313 Hudson Avenue, Tenafly, NJ
Time: 12:30-1:30 pm, 2:00-3:00 pm, 3:30-4:30 pm Sign up for a 3:30 pm guided nature walk after program.
