5 Meals for Under $30 at Target
What’s for dinner this week? How many times a week do you ask yourself that question! Check out our menu and recipes for this week. We are basing our menu on the great deals that you can pick up this week at Target. Everything can be purchased at Target and your cost will be less than $30! Our recipes are geared for a family of four, unless otherwise noted. That’s and average of $6 per meal or $1.50 per serving. How awesome is that!
You might find that you already have some of the items listed on the shopping list in your stock pile so your out of pocket cost will be even less! Just so you know, some prices may vary at your local Target.

Hispaniola Burrito
with Shredded Lettuce and Avocado
Total Cost: approximately $6.30
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Black beans – 1 can
- Chicken breast – 6 oz. cooked
- Seeds of Change Caribbean Style Rice
- Shredded Cheese – Pepper Jack or Cheddar – 1 cup
- Lettuce Shredded – 2 cups
- Salsa – 1 cup
- Avocado
- Tortillas – 4 *
* This recipe calls for tortillas, but since there is a great deal on taco shells at Target, we substituted tacos for the tortillas.

with Asian Vegetables
Total Cost: approximately $4.82
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons
- Stir-fry vegetables
- Minced gingerroot – 1 tablespoon or 1/2 teaspoon ground
- Chicken & Vegetable Potstickers, Pork & Vegetable or Vegetable Potstickers
- Hoisin sauce – 1/2 cup
- Orange juice – 1/2 cup
- Grated orange zest – 1 teaspoon

Chicken Fried Rice
with Tossed Salad
Total Cost: approximately $5.79
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Chicken breasts, cooked – 8 oz
- Rice – 3 cups prepared
- Frozen peas & carrots
- Onion – 1
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Eggs – 2
- Sesame oil
- Soy sauce
The recipe calls for 3 tablespoons of sesame oil, you can substitute vegetable or olive oil.
