5 Meals for Under $30 at ShopRite
What’s for dinner this week? How many times a week do you ask yourself that question! Check out our menu and recipes for this week. We are basing our menu on the great deals that you can pick up this week at ShopRite. Everything can be purchased at ShopRite and your cost will be less than $30! Our recipes are geared for a family of four, unless otherwise noted. That’s and average of $6 per meal or $1.50 per serving. How awesome is that! Throw in some of the great moneymakers and your cost will go down some more.
You might find that you already have some of the items listed on the shopping list in your stock pile so your out of pocket cost will be even less!

Turkey Tacos
with Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cheese and Brownies for dessert
Total Cost: approximately $6.34 *serves 8*
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Ground Turkey – 20 oz.
- Diced tomatoes – 14 – 15 oz can
- Refried beans – 1 can
- Taco shells
- Shredded lettuce – 2 cups
- Tomatoes, diced – 2 cups
- Cilantro – 1/4 cup minced
- Non-fat plain yogurt – 1/2 cup
This recipe calls for seasoned ground turkey. We have plain ground turkey on our list so we added a package of taco seasoning. Even though this recipe serves 8, we wanted to bring the total cost down so we added some money makers to our list.

Sweet & Sour Chicken
with Stir Fry Vegetables and Rice
Total Cost: approximately $5.12
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Vegetable oil – 1 tablespoon
- Boneless chicken breasts – 1 lb.
- Campbell’s Sweet & Sour Skillet Sauce – 1 package

Beef & Pasta Casserole
with Italian Bread and Frozen Vegetables
Total Cost: approximately $5.24 *serves 6-8*
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Pasta – Rotini or Farfalle – 1 lb.
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Onion – 1
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Ground beef – 1 lb
- Chopped tomatoes – 28 oz can
- Dried oregano – 1/2 teaspoon
- Shredded mozzarella – 1 1/2 cup
- Bread crumbs – 1/2 cup (fresh or dry)
- Parmesan cheese – 1/3 cup
We added a loaf of Italian bread to our list. You can use that to make your bread crumbs and then have plenty leftover to serve with your dinner.

with Potatoes, Carrots and Kale

Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- Chicken thighs, legs or quarters – about 1 1/2 – 2 lbs.
