Acme Cheese Sale
I absolutely love good cheese, especially cheese in my “comfort” zone. Hard Italian cheeses are my favorite, served with meat such as hard Salami, Proscuitto or Capicola, bread and olives. Yum! I’ve never been too open to trying other soft cheeses such as Brie, Goat Cheese, etc. But that all changed this week! When Acme notified us of their upcoming big specialty cheese sale on 11/21 – 25% off ALL specialty cheese – I was inspired to create a cheese board with all the trimmings including cheese that I’ve never given a fair chance.
I headed to Acme to check out their selection. It was so hard to choose which cheeses I wanted to try and experiment with. I came home with five different cheeses:
- Brie
- Harvati (different flavors were available, I chose Jalapeno)
- Boursin (Garlic & Herb)
- Goat
- Asaigio
I created a simple cheese board which you can see pictured above which I think is a perfect addition to all the upcoming holiday entertaining I plan to do. I’ve never tried serving different cheeses like this – I typically just cut up some cheddar cheese and serve with crackers I might have in my pantry. This board was inspiring! It wasn’t hard, wasn’t too expensive and made me feel sophisticated and “well-traveled.” The Brie Cheese with apricot preserves was delicious. For trimmings I also had Italian Soppressata, fresh bread, green apple, almonds, crackers, breadsticks, olives and grapes.

These specialty cheeses are great for entertaining but they’re also awesome to have on hand to cook with. We found some recipes using the cheeses I bought at Acme and I’m super excited to give them a try. The two on the top of my list are Chicken with Boursin Mushroom Sauce and Dill-Havarti Mashed Cauliflower. These sound so delicious and are new and exciting recipes to add to our dinner rotation!
