Saturday 10/4/14:

10th Annual Octoberfest Fall Family Celebration

Cost:  FREE
Description:  The Environmental Center will host an autumn celebration for all ages to enjoy! The fun will include activities such as hands-on  nature  games  and  crafts,  farmer’s  market  featuring  a  variety  of  NJ  Fresh  seasonal produce, canoeing, Native American life, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, food, and more. This is a free event that won’t disappoint!
Location: The Essex County Environmental Center, 621-B Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ
Time:  11 am – 4 pm

Holmdel Harvest Festival

Cost:  admission is free/$10 per car to park
Description: Holmdel’s second annual Harvest Festival! Free rides, a petting zoo, live entertainment, food and craft vendors, a beer and wine tent. Watch a family movie followed by FIREWORKS on Saturday 7pm. Come join us for a family fun event!
Location: Bayonet Farm, 41 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ

Sunday 10/5/14:

NJ Botanical Gardens Harvest Fest Craft Fair

Cost:  FREE
Description:  There’s something for everyone at NJBG’s annual Harvest Fest & Craft Fair at the NJ State Botanical Garden, Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, from 10 am to 5 pm.  Hay rides, pumpkin painting, children’s games, autumn plant sale, applesauce making, spinning and weaving demonstration, a blacksmith (Saturday), Craft Fair with lots of handmade items and good things to eat. Free guided garden tours, or wander on your own self-guided tour. Bring your camera — great photo ops!

14th Annual Pumpkin Festival

Cost:  Adults: $14.; Children (under 12): $9.; Infants (1 year & under): Free
Description:  Spend the day at the Whippany Railway Museum and Celebrate the Fall Harvest and the Season of the Witch, during the Museum’s 14th Annual Pumpkin Festival. Walk among the pumpkins, corn shocks and grinning scarecrows. Enjoy the wares of local craft merchants and railroad memorabilia dealers at the “Pumpkin Market Place Crafts Fair.” See a unique collection of antique Farm Tractors, and view two operating model railroad layouts. Climb aboard the “Pumpkinliner” excursion train that follows the route of the Historic “Whippanong Trail.” The combined age of the equipment used on the vintage train is an astounding 635 years! Meet “Stormy The Scarecrow” and enjoy his kid-friendly jokes and magic tricks.  Trains leave every 45 minutes.
