MCPK STEAM Family Fun Day
Cost: FREE for Kids. $5 for adults.
Description: The STEAM Family Fun Day is a community event hosted by the Montclair Community Pre-k (MCPK) through our Early Learning Institute thanks to a generous contribution by the United Way of Northern New Jersey, where adults and children will have the opportunity to attend workshops throughout the morning focused on STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). There are two learning tracks—one for the children and one for the parents/care givers. The child track for children ages 3 to 10 will have three hour-long, fun, hands-on play-based classes taught by Montclair Community Pre K’s own Related Arts teachers. These include Gardening and Earth Studies with Miss Laura, Imagination and Physical Education with Mr. James, and Drumming and Creative Dance with Ms. Maya.
The second learning track will be for parents and will include workshops that will help parents develop knowledge and skills to support the growth of their children. Some of these workshops will include sensory strategies, positive behavior supports, and STEAM learning, just to name a few. Parents can choose which workshops interest them and make their schedule for the morning accordingly. Both tracks will run from 9am-12pm and include a healthy snack for children. This is a community event, and you do not have to attend the Montclair Community Pre-K to be a part of this great day.To register for the STEAM Family Fun Day, please visit our website www.montclairprek.org.
