Living Rich With Coupons – The Book

It’s true…I am writing a book.  It’s been an extremely long process and it’s not nearly close to done (hoping for the end of 2014) but it’s progressing nicely.  I have to thank my wonderful writing coach, Toni, for her guidance in this process.  Without her, I’d be lost.  Although I have so much to say and write for the book, organizing it would be difficult without her.

The great part is, I want to include you guys in the book.  I’m looking for your success stories from using coupons.  Did couponing help you during a time of unemployment, did it help to keep you out of debt or maybe you were able to afford a, much needed, vacation for your family.  Whatever your success, let me know by sending your story to [email protected] (put Book Success Story in the subject line).  I can’t promise we will get all of them in the book but I will keep each and every one of them and may possibly use the ones that didn’t make the book cut for something else…maybe even another book 😉

Rachael Ray Air Date

The next big update is that I’ll be back on The Rachael Ray Show.  They must have heard you during my first airing on the show when you all said I should go back on.  Well, I am!  If you missed it you can see the post about the segment here and here or just click over to view the segment (I’m on all 4 videos) on the Rachael Ray site.  The air date is September 8th!  I know a long way away, but it’s the beginning of the new season so I feel pretty blessed that they feel so good about the segment that they are airing so early in the season.  I can’t say much more than that but, I will be sure to remind you all when it gets closer to the air date.

I couldn’t end this post without pictures of my pride and joy right now…my vegetable garden.  Since we moved into this house 2 years ago…I know 2 years already!…I’ve been working on this awesome garden space the old owners had left.  I’ve never had a fully enclosed garden space before so, although I’ve planted vegetables in the past, there weren’t that many plants and they were usually eaten by rabbits or deer.

Last year was my first year planting a much bigger garden and, while I had great success with some vegetables such as cucumbers, zucchini and kale, other vegetables did not do as well.  So, this year I eliminated those vegetables and I’m focusing on the ones that did well.  Plus, I started almost every one from seed which is another first for me.  Usually I attempt the seeds and wind up caving in and buying plants already started.

I couldn’t resist the BOGO seed sale at Home Depot early last month so I picked up a bunch of organic seed packets of kale, lettuce, cucumbers, spinach, beans, broccoli, tomatoes and more.  The only thing that didn’t come up well was the spinach.  Everything else is growing like crazy!  I’m so excited to have all these great veggies this summer!

Saturday I spent the entire day working in the garden, weeding, planting and feeding my babies.  Yesterday and today….well, I’m just a bit sore.  It’s a good sore though!

That’s it for now.  I’ll be back with other updates each week or maybe even a couple of times a week.  Now I need to do some much needed couponing…truth be told, I have been slacking a bit lately.  Yes, even I slack off sometimes 😉  How many of you go through periods of non-coupon shopping?
