Saturday 11/16/13:
Updike Farmstead Public Days
Cost: $4
Description: Families are invited to visit the historic Updike Farmstead to explore the six acre grounds and browse farmhouse exhibitions, including photographs by members of the Princeton Photography Club and paintings by the A-TEAM artists of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Nature lovers can try a scavenger hunt and see what’s growing in the Unity Garden. Saturday’s theme is: Thanksgiving Myths and Facts.

Lenape Indian Family Day
Cost: nonmembers: $7/child, $10/adult
Description: John Kraft, the creator and director of Lenape Lifeways, will give presentations that focus on the culture of the Lenape Indians. Mr. Kraft uses authentic and recreated objects to teach about Lenape masks, clothing, musical instruments, and tools. Other activities include making a cornhusk doll, weaving, touching Native American Artifacts, and learning about Native American legends and constellations.

Sunday 11/17/13:
The Story Pirates
Cost: $10-12
Description: Wherever The Story Pirates go, they bring along furry monsters, Viking costumes, flying cats, and sacks of treasure for an experience that shows kids the power of writing in a way they’ll never forget. With musical sketch-comedy based entirely on the funniest stories written by children around the country, the show features the debut of four new stories written by child authors in attendance. Pre-show activities at 1:15 pm; show at 2 pm.

Where in the World is New Jersey? Historical Maps of the Garden State
Cost: suggested donation – $5
Description: New Exhibition Featuring Historical Maps of New Jersey Takes Visitors on a Journey Through History and Geography Opening at the New Jersey State Museum on September 7 and running through February 23, 2014, “Where in the World is New Jersey? Historical Maps of the Garden State” is comprised of nearly 100 maps depicting the colony and state of New Jersey from 1635 through 1950.
