Ok, I am very happy to report that all the glitches in this Catalina Deal seem to be fixed! From your informative comments and after testing the deal myself last night, I’m very confident to say this Catalina Deal IS WORKING on pre-price plus prices! Of course there’s always the chance something will go wrong and you won’t receive the Catalina, but overall I’m pretty positive this is working successfully.

Here are some tips on working Catalina Deals:
- ALWAYS check to make sure the Catalina Machine has a green light lit up on it before checking out. Often your Catalina won’t print simply because the machine is down — it could be out of paper, have a paper jam or just plain broken. The cashier doesn’t know to tell you this before you begin checking out, so take it upon yourself to check before you begin your transaction, ESPECIALLY when working a Catalina Deal! If the machine is out of order, find a check out line with a working machine.
- Always remember to check the “pre-price plus” price or “shelf price” at your store. If you’re working a Catalina Deal that is based off of “pre-price plus” price or “shelf price,” don’t assume these prices are the same for you as they are for us while we make the deal ideas. We can’t control if your store suddenly raises or lowers their prices before a sale. Even a penny off from meeting the required amount to receive a Catalina will prevent you from receiving your Catalina, so it’s important to always double check. In this example, the “pre-price plus” or “shelf price” for the Brawny Paper Towel 8-Giant Roll Pack is $10.08, however the sale price is $6.88. We only have to reach the $20 requirement to receive our $5.00 Catalina based off of the original, “pre-price plus” price. So buying (2) Brawny Paper Towels at $10.08 pre-price plus brings us over the $20 requirement and thus triggers a Catalina, even though we’re paying a cheaper sale price and also are using coupons. This is a concept that is NOT advertised in the circular and very rarely understood by store employees, but we know from experience time and time again, that often these deals so work on shelf prices. This is why it is important to check your store’s shelf and pre-price plus prices.
- Don’t get discouraged! We aren’t going to get every deal to work out perfectly, but more times than not we will! The amount of money we save overall using coupons covers the glitches here and there that occur on deals such as this one. Most importantly, have fun!
