Where o where has Cindy been?

I thought I would give you an update on my life for the last 2 weeks.  It’s been a crazy, crazy time but we are finally settling down here.  In case some of you didn’t know, we have moved from our home of 19 years in Livingston to Middletown, NJ.  This move was a long time coming as my husband has been traveling a long distance to work for almost 4 years.  Plus, we are now closer to my parents which is a plus.  Or, maybe not since my mom is now closer to “shopping” in my stockpile 😉

Our move took place last week over a 3 day period starting on Wednesday, June 6th and closing and moving into the new home on June 8th.  Packing your life and moving it is never easy but we had an awesome moving company.  From the recommendation of a reader on the LRWC Facebook page, we contacted The Padded Wagon Moving & Storage in Parsippany, NJ.  They were awesome from Bill (who I happened to have gone to high school with) to Willy and the crew.  A great group of guys that took so much care with our belongings and still smiled even after having to sit in front of our house for almost 2 hours due to a delay in our closing.  I was looking for full service movers near me and was not disappointed by their service..

After we moved in on Friday, we spent Saturday through Monday unpacking and unpacking and unpacking.  I was sore from head to toe.  Then the next leg of my crazy 2 weeks started on Tuesday morning as I headed to Rhode Island to CVS Headquarters.  As much as I was dreading going and leaving so many unpacked boxes, I knew I would enjoy the trip as the CVS team are a wonderful group.  They updated us on some great things happening including the awesome, updated CVS.com site which I think looks great.  And, my favorite feature that they are working on, is to be able to show in-store stock on their website making it easier to find out if your store has an item before you leave your house.  Woot!

So, with all that happening in my life, how did LRWC keep going with all these great deals and coupons?  Well, I have to give a big, big thank you to my daughter Megan and the rest of the LRWC elves including Melinda, Loretta & Gigi.  They really kept everything running while I was on and off the site.  But, I am back and I will be back to my regularly scheduled couponing. Thank goodness because over the last 2 weeks we have eaten out more times then not so I am so ready to get back to cooking and shopping.  I can tell you that I am very thankful for the large cushion I had in my grocery budget because it came in quite handy for lots of pizzas and quick runs to the store.  And those quick runs to the store where not cheap.

So, that pretty much sums up my life the last couple of weeks.  I am rolling up my sleeves and getting back into the swing of things.  As a matter of fact I just started last night and grabbed 2 Gas Cards at ShopRite to score myself 2- $10 Catalinas.  And, from the recommendation of some readers, I stopped at Best Market here in Holmdel,  where I scored Chicken Breast for $1.79/lb and Earthbound Farm Salads for $0.24 after the $0.75 coupon.  Green Peppers were just $0.79/lb as well as many other great prices on produce.  I think I have just found the replacement for my Farmer’s Market that I loved to shop at up north!  Yay!

I’m psyched for the great Buy $75 Get $25 Gift Card deal at ShopRite and I’m heading to Stop & Shop for that awesome Magnum Ice Cream Deal going on.  Boy did I miss couponing!  I’m so happy to be back 🙂
