Ten years ago, the nation sat in fear, horror and sadness as we watched the beautiful skyline of Manhattan become the target of the most horrific events in our lifetime. We watched as people lost their lives right in front of us. As, the world as we know it, came crumbling down.
As a strong nation, we naturally look to help each other. It’s what makes our country great. And we often wonder, how can we honor the men & women that lost their lives that day? How can we show that, all of us, as a nation, can pull together and become one voice. A voice heard around the country, telling everyone that we are strong and we are here for each other. We help and support each other through hurricanes, recessions, tornadoes, flooding and horrific events like the one that took place 10 years ago.
I know, wholeheartedly, that after 10 years, it has brought our nation together. So much so that almost 80,000 people in less then 1 month have joined together on Facebook to Pay it Forward in honor of September 11th.
Eighty Thousand and growing have decided that if we help a stranger in the hopes that the stranger will help a stranger and that generosity continues to grow, that we can take that horrible event and turn it into something positive by continuing to Pay it Forward.
Paying it forward can be as small as giving someone a compliment, helping an eldery person take their groceries to their car, hand out coupons at the grocery store or even something much bigger if you so choose. What you do does not matter. All that matters is that it makes someone’s day just a tiny bit brighter in the hopes that they will make someone’s day a tiny bit bright too.
So, I hope you will join the movement, and Pay it Forward, today, tomorrow and always.
We must never forget 9/11
