Reader Dena has a question about the best deals for produce.
Question:
What are good deal prices for produce items? Now that it’s summertime, grocery stores are having more sales on fruit and it’s also available at local orchards for the picking. What’s a good price per pound that someone should shoot for?
Prices for produce vary by the type of produce and the time of year. My suggestion is to always buy fruits and vegetables in season and grown locally to you. This way you get them at their lowest prices.
You can check out Save Money: Eat Local Produce and you can also check for a Farmers Market in your area.
How do you guys save on produce?
