Spaghetti Sauce
I was getting ready to finally post up my menu plan for the week because, once again, I’m a day late. And, I realized that I have wanted to post up my quick and easy Spaghetti Sauce recipe or otherwise known as Marinara Sauce.
When I cook, it’s never an exact science so these will just be *suggested amounts*. So, if you are looking for a simple recipe to throw on top of some macaroni for a quick dinner or even let simmer all day with meatballs, sausage and turn it into a nice Italian Gravy. Also, it’s great to use with my Best Lasagna Recipe.
When I cook, it’s never an exact science so these will just be *suggested amounts*. So, if you are looking for a simple recipe to throw on top of some macaroni for a quick dinner or even let simmer all day with meatballs, sausage or, like my grandmothers did, throw in any leftover meat in the frig, then this is a great recipe for that.
This should be enough for 2 meals so take the rest and freeze for an quick and easy second meal.
- Olive Oil
- 6-8 Cloves 6-8 Gloves Garlic Chopped
- 1/2 Large Onion Chopped
- 2 Cans 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 Can 15 oz Tomato Sauce
- 6 oz 6 oz Tomato Paste
- Handful of Fresh Basil Chopped or dried
- Handful of Fresh Parsley Chopped or dried
- Handfull of Fresh Oregano or dried
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
-
Saute garlic & onions until soft.
-
Add 2 cans of crushed tomato. Fill 1 can (28 oz) with water and add that as well
-
Add 1 Can tomato sauce & 1 can tomato paste as well as the rest of the ingredients.
-
Let simmer for an hour minimum.
-
If you are adding cooked meatball & sausage you can put that in now. I like to let that simmer for at least 3 hours.
-
Serve over macaroni. Add grated cheese, ricotta cheese or whatever suits your fancy.
