Budget Cuts
These are cuts that we have made this past month to help trim down our budget. Some are small and some are large but all help to trim down our monthly expenses as we save toward our debt free future.
The first group of cuts are ours and the second group are from readers.
Savings for year $128
2. We got rid of the 3 Blackberry cell phones that we had (that was a bit of a discussion with our girls but they came around). The Blackberry plan runs $30 per month per phone. We did have to purchase new phones which cost $150 ($50 per phone). The savings will take into consideration the purchase of these phones.
Savings per year $930
Savings per month $77.50
3. Making homemade pizza: Every Friday we would buy 1 pizzas at our local pizzeria. The cost of that was around $15 depending on the topping we wanted. We are now making (and by the way it has been a lot of fun) our own pizza, dough and all. The cost for homemade pizzas is around $5.00.
Savings per year $460
Savings per month $38
Totals as of July 31:
Yearly Savings: $1518
Monthly Savings: $125.50
Reader Budget Cuts:
Joyce says: Get your teenagers to use coupons as well. She gave her son a TGI Friday $5 off coupon. His friends were quite impressed.
Sandy says: She makes her own bread in a bread machine. You can make pizza dough, rolls, sandwich bread for a lot less. ***Cindy’s note: I am looking into one of these***
