Ok, so I normally don’t do a midweek shopping trip but I had just received the coupons I ordered from Ebay for the rice. With the triple coupon sale ending on Thursday at A&P I needed to make a midweek trip. So, I headed out (with hubby in tow) and stopped at A&P, Pathmark & Target.
Finally, A&P had the Viva paper towels so I picked up 4 at 04¢ each. Got 16 packets of Carolina Rice (FREE), 2 bottles of Newman’s Salad Dressing (FREE). Onto Pathmark were I got 18 containers of Breyers yogurt (FREE). And the last stop was Target where I picked up Renu contact solution ($1.52 – $1/1 printable)…paid for balance on a giftcard.
Note on the Renu: I had an old $1/1 coupon that is not available any longer. I purchased the 2 oz. trial size at $1.52. So the cost was .52¢. They had the 12 oz on sale for $5.89…less a $1 coupon would be $4.89 for 12 oz. I hesitated at first and thought since the larger size was on sale, less my coupon, it might be better. So I took out my calculator and wouldn’t you know it…the trail size less coupon was better per ounce. The 12 oz at $4.89 was $.41 per ounce vs. the 2 oz at .52¢ was only .26¢ per ounce. So getting larger quanties is not always a better deal. There is, however, now a $2/2 off printable on the Renu but that still is $.32 per ounce. Since the $1/1 coupon is longer available, getting the Renu for .32¢ is still a pretty good deal.
