Even More Ways to Save
Zero to Stockpile
Guys, I’m done for the week. Well unless I have to run out for something small. But, I’m actually done. And, I’m over $70 under my budget. I’m slowly inching closer to my original grocery budget which makes this momma very happy! So, my prediction, when I started this Zero to Stockpile Challenge, is proving to be correct. I hustled in the beginning and did a lot of planning which gave me a growing stockpile. That stockpile is now starting to help keep my grocery spending down.
Just think, I have a freezer filled with boneless chicken I paid $1.47 for, turkey breast I paid $0.99/lb for, frozen veggies I paid $0.49 a bag for. My pantry is filled with canned tomatoes I paid $0.14 for, cereal I scored for free and on and on. Because I scored these awesome deals and bought multiple items in the first few weeks, it’s allowing me to walk away from the 40% off chicken at ShopRite last week because, you know what, it’s really not that great a price. It’s allowing me to walk away from $0.50 for deodorant, $0.75 for a box of cereal and even $0.50 for laundry detergent. Did I mention I got laundry detergent for free too 😉
That, my friends, is the power of the stockpile and that is exactly what is happening to me now. It’s helping to control my spending and that is a beautiful thing.
But, while I’m already stocked up on a bunch of items right now, I still have items I need. My list is much much smaller now but I still do need some items. Some of these items I’ve bought at okay prices just to have them and some I’m still waiting to find that perfect price. And when I do find that perfect price, you can bet your coupons that I’ll be stocking up!
Things on my list for next week are:
- Coffee
- Almond Butter
- Bacon – Nitrate Free
- Canned Tuna
- Mouthwash
- Butter
Hope your stockpile is getting bigger and your grocery spending is smaller.
