Sesame Ginger Chicken
Here is a easy to prepare recipe that tastes excellent. If you have people show up for dinner, or don’t know what to cook, this recipe comes in handy. Most of the ingredients are most likely already in your house. You don’t have to marinate the chicken, you just baste it. You flatten chicken breast, put them on the grill and baste them. Leftovers are great on a salad or on a sandwich. This is a good all-around, versatile recipe!
Sesame Ginger Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger or 1/2 teaspoon dried ginger
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb. boneless chicken breasts
- 2 scallions thinly sliced for garnish, optional
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Make the baste by combining sesame seeds, ginger, honey, soy sauce and oil in a bowl, set aside.
2. Pound chicken breasts with a meat mallet and flatten to 1/2 thick.
3. Place chicken on grill. Cook chicken 5 – 6 minutes on each side, basting often. Once the chicken is done, transfer to serving platter and sprinkle with scallions, if using.
Makes 4 servings.
