Changes Coming to Rite Aid Up Reward Program

Over the last week there have been rumors of a change in the Rite Aid Up Reward program.  The rumor involved complete elimination of the program as we know it today.  Over the last couple of days we have been digging deeper into this rumor so we can report to you the most accurate and up to date information.

While Rite Aid was happy to respond to our inquiry, they could only provide to us the same information that they have put out on their facebook page.  Rite Aid reports:

Rite Aid will continue to provide great opportunities for customers to save on the everyday products they purchase in our stores. We will share those opportunities throughout the year as well as continually explore how to add value to our promotional offerings for our customers. And as we always do, we’ll communicate details of our promotional programs to our customers.

As you can see they are not denying or confirming the removal of the UP Reward program leaving us to continue to search for answers.  Through our sources, we were able to speak to someone (not from Rite Aid) that has an unpublished copy of the ad for the week of 3/29.  Missing from the ad is, you guessed it, UP Reward offers!

The ad simply contains sales including BOGO sales and percentage off sales.  No other rewards programs are listed.

At this point we do not know if and when any other promotional program will take it’s place or if they are changing the UP Rewards Program.

It’s certainly a big game changer.  We like to look at changes as a new way or opportunity to save so we try to find the positive in any new situation.  Haven’t found it yet but we’ll let you know when we do.

What are your thoughts on this big change with the removal of the Rite Aid UP Reward Program as we know it today.

Update:  We are now hearing rumors of  possible UP Reward offers being introduced at different times of the year instead of on a weekly basis as it has been.  At this point these are just rumors.  We will continue to update once we know more.
